Tracey L. Easley was born and raised in New York City. He did not have a religious upbringing. His family had a Bible but all he knew was some words were black and some were red. When he was 12, someone asked him if he believed in God. He looked up to heaven and said yes because he was afraid if he said no, something bad would happen. When he was 19, he heard the Gospel for the first time. Afterward, he could not get the name of Jesus out of his mind.
When he was 20, after some extreme unfairness on his job, he said in his heart that he would quit that job and go get saved because remembering the gospel that was preached to him, he determined Jesus would not treat him like that! That Monday, he quit his job not knowing any church to go to. Later that day, he picked up his girlfriend and they started home. On the way, a man named Steve, leaning on a car on 72nd Street and Broadway pointed to me (bypassing my girlfriend!) and asked me “Do you want to be saved today?” There is no way that was coincidental!
Within the next few weeks, he got baptized in the name of Jesus and was filled with the Holy Ghost on Aug. 26, 1980, with the evidence of speaking in other tongues just as the Bible writes in the books of Mark 16:17 and Acts 2:38. Since then, the Lord Jesus Christ has granted him much grace and revelation concerning the written word of God on various spiritual subject matters, in particular, the things written in this book.
